9 November, 2018 @ 10:00 - 17:00

Free

“The collaborative economy creates new opportunities for consumers and entrepreneurs. The Commission considers that it can therefore make an important contribution to jobs and growth in the European Union, if encouraged and developed in a responsible manner. (A European agenda for the collaborative economy, Brussels, 2.6.2016)”

Seminar (11h00-12h50):
Session moderated by Sandra Marnoto, professor at ISMAI, with keynote speeches by Mariana Almeida, legal expert at the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (DECO) and Joana Carvalho, researcher at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, who will focus on the main legal challenges brought about by the Sharing Economy. António Coelho, coordinator of INESC TEC’s research area for Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments at CSIG, will then address the topic of technology-based innovation and digital platforms through the lens of Tourism, one of the sectors most impacted by the rise of Sharing Economy business models.

Focus Group (14h30-17h00):
Shaping the future of Sharing Economy through the voice of its Stakeholders
Replicating the Electronic Participatory Meeting approach, this session provides the right collaborative and democratic context for different stakeholders either interested or taking part in the Sharing Economy to express their views and take a stand on the theme and, thus, play an active role in the definition of local strategies and policies which may contribute towards the sustainable and fair development of such economy.

Event jointly organized by INESC TEC and Câmara de Comércio e Indústria do Centro (CEC-CCIC), partners in the EU projects TouriSMEshare e EU-Give, respectively.

The event will be held in Portuguese. See the agenda of the event
